Loqus provides a comprehensive street gazetteer referencing streets throughout Malta and Gozo. This dataset is an intelligent street network where all the street segments are identified, captured and displayed as a spatial object over the orthophotos or basemap of Malta and Gozo. The gazetteer provides a complete list of all streets by their names and is provided with a unique reference numbers.

Street data is constantly updated to capture new streets, or modifications thereof.

The dataset consists of:

• Linking Roads
• Street Segments
• Tracks and footpaths

This gazetteer was developed to support the required mapping and related geographic activities to develop GIS-based applications. Such applications include intelligent street finder modules or route viewers to find the shor test or fas test path between two of more points, based on a road or street network.

The street network can be added as another layer in GIS-based software.
